WHO: County Executive Lamont G. McClure & Dept. of Human Services

WHAT: Suicide Prevention Month Proclamation

WHERE: Northampton County

WHEN: September 2025

[Northampton County, PA] – At the September 4th County Council Meeting, Northampton County Executive Lamont G. McClure presented a proclamation during his Executive Report declaring September as Suicide Prevention Month in Northampton County.

The proclamation highlights the County’s commitment to raising awareness, supporting prevention efforts, and fostering hope for those impacted by suicide. Executive McClure also recognized the dedicated efforts of the LOSS (Local Outreach to Suicide Survivors) Team, which provides compassionate support to families and individuals coping with the immediate aftermath of suicide.

“Suicide impacts every community, and it is important that we come together to both prevent these tragedies and support the families who are left behind,” said McClure. “The LOSS team’s work brings light during the darkest moments and provides critical resources to help survivors navigate grief.”

Throughout September, Northampton County will continue working with community partners to increase awareness about suicide prevention resources and encourage open conversations about mental health.
