 Retired Law Enforcement Identification Act (RLEIA)

The Northampton County Sheriff's Department is open from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday, with the exception of county holidays or closures, to accept and process Retired Law Enforcement Identification cards. Please carefully read the instructions and information below before submitting.

Please bring with you to Sheriff's Office:

  1. Retired law enforcement identification card
  2. Driver's License or other form of official/governmental photographic identification
  3. Blue qualification card signed by a certified law enforcement firearms instructor
  4. Money order or certified check in the amount of $5.00 payable to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania (No cash or personal checks will be accepted)

           

Upon completion of a criminal history check similar to 18 Pa C.S. 6109 (d) (5) through the Pennsylvania State Police, Bureau of Records and Identification, the Sheriff shall sign and issue the identification card.
