Medication disposal has emerged as a growing concern in recent years as studies continue to find trace amounts of pharmaceuticals in drinking water supplies across the country, and as abuse of prescription medications commonly found in homes continues to climb.
In 2015, the Northampton County District Attorney's Office launched the installation of secure medicine return boxes at local Municipal Police Departments throughout Northampton County. A listing of collection locations and medication disposal guidelines are available here.
