The Advisory Council of the Northampton County Area Agency on Aging is a group of concerned citizen volunteers, appointed by the County Executive and confirmed by the Northampton County Council, whose purpose it to assure full participation by older adults and by the community in developing a program of services for County residents age sixty and over. The Advisory Council reviews Area Agency on Aging programs, recommends new programs, participates in planning, sponsors or participates in public hearings, recommends public information techniques, and acts as an advocate for older adults in the community in many ways, including sponsorship of an annual volunteer service recognition.

Membership on the Advisory Council is open to Northampton County residents. At least fifty percent of Advisory Council members must be age sixty or older. Every effort is made to have Advisory Council Membership reflect the makeup of our community. To inquire about possible service on the Advisory Council, please call the AAA at (610) 829-4540 or toll free at (1-800-322-9269) and ask to speak to the AAA Administrator.

The AAA Advisory Council meets on the second Tuesday of the odd months, (January, March, May, July, September, and November). Meetings begin at 9:30 a.m., and are held at the Northampton County Human Services Building, 2801 Emrick Blvd, Bethlehem, PA 18020. The exception is the November meeting which is the member Appreciation Luncheon.
