Conservation District Directors are volunteers that are nominated by an approved local nominating organization and then approved by Northampton County government. Their responsibilities range from policy creation to supporting efforts of district staff and their partner agencies to provide quality administrative, technical, and educational assistance to all county residents.

In accordance with Act 217, the Conservation District Law, the Board of Directors of the Northampton County Conservation District
may appoint associate directors without voting power to carry out the district's business at the discretion of the board. Aside from serving on a Board committee and being involved wth Board discussion; Associate Directors have the ability to take on various roles in the absence of a Director.
