DUE TO THE CURRENT COVID-19 PANDEMIC, PASSPORT APPLICATIONS ARE NOT BEING ACCEPTED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.

 

The Northampton County Prothonotary is an official acceptance agent for U.S. Passports. This a walk-in service which does not require an appointment.

You may apply for your passport in the office if :  

1. You are a first time passport applicant

2. You are a minor wishing to renew your passport 

3. You have an adult passport that has been expired for five years

For all other renewal inquiries please visit travel.state.gov

 

You may obtain the application online or in our office.  You may complete the application in advance, however you must wait to sign the application in the presence of the Acceptance Agent.

 

Processing times:

Processing times vary depending on demand.  For up-to-date processing times please check with travel.state.gov.  As a general guide, regular processing is approximately 6-8 weeks.  Expedite processing is approximately 3 weeks.

    Current passport fees are:

    PASSPORT BOOK

    Adult (16+)................... $110

    Minor (under age 16)..... $80

    PASSPORT CARD

    Adult (16+)................... $30

    Minor (under age 16)..... $15

    ADDITIONAL OPTIONS

    Expedite processing ........ $60

    Overnight delivery .......... $17.13

    Passport book/card fees should be in the form of check or money order made payable to: U. S. Department of State

     

    SEPARATE PROCESSING FEE

    All application processing fees (Adult / Minor) are $35.00 / per application

    Processing fees should be in the form of cash or money order made payable to: Clerk of Civil Court
