A Partnership of Service to the Agricultural Community of Northampton County
Northampton County Department of Community and Economic Development (NCDCED) recognizes that farming is a passion, a lifestyle, and of course, a business. A tough business. With 498 farms in the County, NCDCED recognizes the importance of supporting those businesses with efficient, effective and accessible business resources.
With our partner, Penn State Extension, we continue to speak with farmers and agribusiness people, to learn what is missing and what is challenging the success of farmers and other agribusinesses.
Then, we find resources that provide solutions to these very complex problems.
Today's farmers and the next generation of farmers want and need help to stay competitive in a volatile and increasingly technology-driven market. They want to grow their business, and protect their investment, as well as their families' future.
Through partnerships and programs, the NCDCED's AgConnect provides training, information, and a variety of opportunities for people in the business of agriculture, from new technologies to information about GMOs to legal, banking and operations management ideas. We will also provide public education to help the neighbors better understand the hard work and vital contributions of today's farmers and agricultural businesses.
NCDCED is committed to keeping agriculture a leading industry in Northampton County and in Pennsylvania. From low-interest loan programs specifically created for farmers to purchase their first farm; to finding resources for expanding projects for existing farmers, Northampton County AgConnect is
A Partnership of Service to the agricultural community.
