Northampton County Brown Fields

 

Northampton County’s Department of Community & Economic Development, in partnership with Lehigh County, supports the Lehigh Valley Economic Development Corporation’s Lehigh Valley Land Recycling Initiative (LVLRI).  The Land Recycling Initiative is focused on promoting economic development through the reuse of abandoned and underutilized commercial and industrial properties, also known as brownfields throughout the Lehigh Valley. 

Land recycling supports smart growth and fosters economic development while protecting human health and the environment and the preservation of open space.

A number of grant and loan programs are available to assist in the assessment and remediation of brownfield properties.  Information on funding programs, available sites, and additional resources is available on the LVEDC’s website:
