Bethlehem, PA – County Executive Lamont G. McClure invites you to attend a special press conference this Friday, commemorating the second anniversary of the Fake is Real; fentanyl awareness campaign. This significant event will highlight the accomplishments and achievements of the campaign, as well as unveil RISE (Recover Initiatives Supporting Everyone), a vital new program aimed at supporting individuals in recovery.
County Executive McClure will be joined by Kelly Primus, Deputy Secretary for the Pennsylvania Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs, Northampton County District Attorney, Stephen Barratta, and Kathy Jiorle, Northampton County Drug and Alcohol Administrator, who will share their insights and support for this initiative.
“Two years ago, we launched the “FAKE IS REAL” campaign to shine a light on the dangers of fentanyl and to support those struggling with addiction,” said County Executive McClure. “As we celebrate our accomplishments, we also acknowledge that our work is far from over. The unveiling of RISE represents our continued commitment to providing resources and support for recovery in our community.”
Following the press conference, there will be an open house from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM to provide the opportunity to tour the new mobile outreach van, an essential resource for the community’s recovery initiatives.

The FAKE IS REAL campaign was launched to combat the rising threat of fentanyl and raise awareness about its dangers. Over the past two years, the campaign has successfully educated the community, provided resources, and fostered partnerships to support those affected by addiction.
